TRAVEL TO UPPSALA

Easy access from Arlanda and Stockholm

Uppsala is easy to reach, with frequent connections from both Arlanda Airport and Stockholm.

Train

Direct trains connect Stockholm Arlanda Airport with Uppsala Central Station in approximately 20 minutes. Trains depart from SkyCity, next to Terminal 5.

Tickets can be purchased at the airport or online in advance. Both SL/UL commuter trains and SJ trains operate the route. Please make sure you have a valid ticket for the train you choose, as tickets are not interchangeable between operators.

Bus

Bus 801 connects Arlanda Airport with central Uppsala throughout the day. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes.

Tickets can be purchased by card on board or from ticket machines at the airport. Cash is not accepted, and tickets purchased before boarding are cheaper.

Taxi

Taxis depart outside the arrival halls and reach Uppsala in approximately 30–35 minutes.

Taxi fares in Sweden are not regulated, so always ask for a fixed price before departure. The maximum fixed price to Uppsala for 1–4 passengers should be SEK 695.
Payment by card or cash is accepted.

LANGUAGE

The language of the conference is English.

TIME ZONE

Sweden uses Central European Time.

WEATHER

November temperatures in Uppsala may range from below 0°C to around 10°C, with possible rain.

ELECTRICITY

In Sweden the electrical voltage used is 220/230V.

CURRENCY

The Swedish currency is the Swedish krona (SEK). Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted, and many shops and public transport services are cash-free.

SMOKING

Sweden has a non-smoking policy and smoking is prohibited in public buildings and on public transport. All hotel rooms are by default non-smoking.

INSURANCE

The registration fee does not include travel or personal insurance.

PASSPORT & VISA

Check current entry requirements with the relevant embassy orconsulate before travelling.

FORCE MAJEURE
